Clarisonic PRO: My experience so far
I’m pretty
sure that most of us have a few beauty related products/items in mind they’d
love to have. To me, the Clarisonic was always on top of that list. For some
reason it fascinated me, and all those positive reviews I read just made me
want it more! However, the price stopped me from getting it for a long, long
time. After a lot of thinking and ''but which one should I get?'' conversations
with people who will probably start to cringe now when they hear the word Clarisonic, I decided to get the Clarisonic PRO in pink. I definitely wanted something
I could use on my body as well. My legs tend to feel really dry, ingrown hairs started
to become a bit of a regular thing and on top of that I bruise very easily as
well. I was really curious if the Clarisonic could make a difference. When it
comes to my face I do have very sensitive
skin but it's soft and I only have an occasional break-out, so not a lot to complain about. I’m incredibly lazy when it comes to
removing my make-up though, so letting the Clarisonic do all the hard work
sounded pretty good to me. I secretly hoped (well, still hope) that it would
help me to age less wrinkly gracefully as well!
I've been using the Clarisonic PRO for about 3 weeks now, it's still too early for a proper review but that will definitely follow in the future! I can't wait to compare the before and after pictures, but until then I want to give this nifty little beauty tool all the time it needs to make my skin look fabulous. (Yup Clarisonic, high price tag = high expectations!). Anyways, today I'll talk about the set I bought and my thoughts so far.
The Clarisonic turned out to be quite hard to get in my country, luckily I found a store that does ship all sorts of Clarisonic goodies, called Fresh Water Valley . I'm not sure what went wrong because I ordered a set with an extension handle (really wanted a pink one, and that was the only set available at the time) but I got the holiday set in stead. Which I don't mind at all to be honest, because the holiday set comes with an adorable travel bag and another tube of body polish! At the moment both sets are available I believe, although I'm not sure how much longer the holiday set will be in stock. I'm just happy they sent me the wrong one ;)
The set includes the Clarisonic PRO, the charging cradle, 2 brush heads (one for the face and one for the body, both for sensitive skin), a trial-size cleanser for the face, a trial-size AND a full size skin polish for the body, a travel bag and an ''USA to Europe plug adapter''.
The Clarisonic PRO is waterproof and meant for the face and the body, it has 4 speeds and an extra body setting.
I was a little afraid that the PRO would be insanely big compared to its little sister, the Clarisonic MIA aka the ''travel size'' Clarisonic. I don't own the MIA so I'm not sure how much bigger the PRO actually is, but it fits perfectly in my hand so I'm fine with its size!
I've been thinking about getting the MIA instead with an extra brush (and use that one for my body) but in the end I decided to play it safe and went for the PRO. I'm not sure if a body brush is really that more effective than the regular face brush, but at least they look different so I certainly hope using a body brush makes a difference as well :P
A close-up of the body brush. It has pretty stiff hairs but it doesn't feel uncomfortable when you use it. I use this brush about twice a week in the shower and I have to say that I like this baby a lot! It's kind of like a massage tool, I especially like to use this on my shoulder/neck area after a long day at work. I think it also does something for my bruises, but I’m not certain yet. Hopefully the before & after pictures will make that clear when I write the actual review. Besides that, it seems the amount of ingrown hairs have decreased as well.
This is the face brush, the hairs are a lot more flexible and dense. The brush doesn't irritate my skin which is definitely a plus, it also removes my make-up perfectly. My cheeks and forehead do get a little red, but using the brush doesn't cause discomfort in any way. My skin feels clean and soft after using the brush and my face also feels a little firmer. However, I expected my skin to really feel squeaky clean because a lot of girls claim you never want to use something else after you've tried the Clarisonic. I didn't get that ''OMG amazing'' feeling, my skin feels pretty much the same after using a nice facial cleanser. (Ha, my boyfriend will probably shake his head right now and call me a picky woman).

Well, I do have to add that I found ways to get a better result. The first two weeks I applied the face wash right in the center, but it seems to clean my face a lot better when you apply it more towards the black circle. At first I didn't like the fastest speed so I sticked to the second setting, but now that I've been using the PRO for a while the heavier vibrations don't scare me anymore, so I'm using the fourth setting at the moment. This also seems to do a better job!
I found this picture(?) in the instruction booklet, I use it the exact same way (20 seconds on the forehead, 10 seconds on each cheek, 10 seconds on my chin and 10 seconds on my nose). Oh, and in case you are curious about some sort of ''purging phase'', I did get a few more spots than usual on my cheeks and chin but nothing too crazy. Right now I still have two minor spots on my cheek.
Not sure if it's interesting to see, but this is what the brush looks like now, about a month later. They say make-up can stain it, I'm glad mine still looks fairly white!
Unfortunately I can't really say anything about the skincare products because I'm not using them at the moment.
Wondering why? Because I'm currently using these two! ;) My sister knew that I was going to order the Clarisonic so she got me a body wash and a face wash. The body wash smells like coconuts, love it! I also love Nivea, they have awesome body lotions and hand creams. Oh, and deodorants too!
I usually leave my Clarisonic in the cradle, once it's fully charged it lasts me about 2 weeks (I use the face brush every night and the body brush twice a week). Awesome!
I love the travel bag, it's water-resistant and the print is pretty cute as well.
Cute but not too girly :)
Absolutely love the zipper, such a nice detail!
And it's definitely big enough to store the Clarisonic and a lot of skin care products!
To make a long story short, I'm still a tiny little skeptical about the Clarisonic, especially the face brush. Although maybe my expectations were too high to begin with, a lot of girls treat this as their holy grail so I secretly expected a bit of a miracle. Although it's also possible that there wasn't much to improve I suppose, although I do find that a little hard to believe...I like to think that you can always do something to help improve the condition of your skin. I didn't get any comments about my skin either, only my significant other mentioned a glow but I can't really count that can I? However, I still have a long way to go! Who knows, maybe I'll see an (amazing) improvement in my skin once I compare the before and after pictures. I'm already loving the body brush (it feels lovely and that one does seem to improve the condition of my skin) so I definitely don't feel as if I wasted all my money.
Well, I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post! What do you use to clean your skin/remove your make-up?

Great post! You'll have to do an update in a few weeks to let us know if the Clarisonic really is as miraculous as so many people claim. I'd be really interested to know. Funny, I was just reading about the MIA today, and wondering if my cosmetic derm has good things to say about them or not.
I use oil-free makeup remover wipes and a prescription sulfur wash to take care of my skin. ;-)

I've been really curious about the Clarisonic. I've been hoping I can win one in a giveaway but no such luck! lol.
I'm looking forward to seeing your full review!
Give it a try on the scalp! I tried it on the top of my head with body brush like what an Asian blogger recommended , and I love it! Hope this helps.^ ^
