Review: Batiste Dry Shampoo
Hello everyone! In a previous blog post about dry shampoo I mentioned that I never use it, but things have changed a little bit after that review! I bought a bottle of dry shampoo for those ''bad hair days'' when my hair looks oily and I don't have the time to take a shower before I leave the house. However, the one I previously reviewed left my hair with a bit of a weird white ish shine, so I gave that one to my younger sister (yup, the hair-freak).I really wanted to get one from Batiste because I heard good stories about the brand, but I hesitated for a while because I find them a little bit expensive. (The ones you can see above are like 4 pounds/5 euro each). I really wanted to give it a try though, so a few days ago I decided to buy the one with a hint of colour (so I could hopefully avoid that white shine) and my sister picked one that promised her big and bouncy hair.
You get 200 ml of product, the one I have is for the (medium) brunettes but they have a huuuge range of products. Do you want something with a bit of shimmer or a tropical scent? Batiste has it! It's also super simple to use: just shake the can, spray into the roots, massage for a minute and brush your hair!
Okay, time for the before and after pictures! At the left you can see me with obviously dirty hair, at the right you can see what it looks like after I used the dry shampoo. Not bad eh? I'm very happy with the final result! At first I felt worried because my hair seemed covered in that typical white powdery stuff, but after I brushed my hair it looked fine. The dry shampoo smells pretty nice too, which is not a bad bonus!
My sister decided to go for this one, her hair is a tiny bit lighter and she never had any ''white shine'' problems, so she just wanted something that would give her hair a bit of an extra oomph.
Again, the dry shampoo does a wonderful job! Just like the other one it makes oily and dirty hair look a whole lot better, and the effect is very long-lasting. However, we didn't really notice ''XXL volume'' or anything like that, and my sister mentioned that this one made her hair feel a little stiff and even said that her hair felt like ''a stack of hay'' at some point. It could be her hair type though, next time she wants to try the original version in stead.
Am I happy with my bottle of Batiste dry shampoo? Definitely! I don't know how long it's going to last (although I do hope that it's going to last a couple of weeks because I don't plan to buy a new can every month) but besides it being a bit expensive I do love the product! Using dry shampoo is a super easy and quick way to give your hair a boost and the huge product range of Batiste is also pretty awesome. I definitely suggest giving Batiste a try if you're looking for a dry shampoo! :)
Have you already tried dry shampoo before?

Uh-oh, that does look pretty dark! This is what the can looked like after I was done spraying. At that point I was afraid that it would be a little bit too dark for my hair...
And this is what my hair looked like right after the spraying part, hello white stuff...

Recent Buys!
Hello everyone! I feel like a terrible blogger -it's been ages since I posted something- but I hope that all of you can forgive me. The internship is still very time-consuming (11 weeks down, 9 more to go!) although it's all worth it! A couple of days ago I was even standing in an OR watching doctors perform surgery on one of our patients (they were inserting a peritoneal dialysis catheter). Who knew I'd ever get to wear scrubs? And I definitely didn't know that doctors could be so funny, but that's a whole different story ;)
Today it's -finally- time for a new blog post! A couple of days ago I went shopping with my sister and we couldn't go home empty handed of course. We found some gorgeous shoes, cute summer hats, fun looking jumpsuits, colourful belts and more! Below you can find pictures of all our purchases:
Let's start with the jumpsuits, the pink ish one belongs to my sister and I picked the turquoise one. This is actually my first jumpsuit and I didn't know that wearing one felt so heavenly! The fabric feels super light & smooth and covers the 'problem areas' very well. If you'd like to see more pictures, you can find them at this website. (And oops...I noticed that I didn't take any pictures of the shorts I bought, sorry!).
My sister bought two little belts as well because her jumpsuit was a little loose around her waist, aren't those little keys + locks super cute? I'm definitely going to borrow those belts in the future!
It's a little silly how buying a pair of gorgeous shoes can make me feel as if I
just won the lottery. Unfortunately high heels turn me into a wobbly and
dangerous mess (and well, they hurt), so I usually just look at pictures of Louboutins or
Steve Madden heels. Luckily there are also wedges, shoes that can increase your height but still feel comfortable. A win-win
situation!
My sister and I have been looking for a pretty & feminine hat for almost 2 years now, but we finally found hats we like! I didn't know that it would be so hard to find a hat that would fit my big head ;)
We purchased some facial masks and nose strips as well, guess tomorrow will be girls night!
We both got a new dry shampoo (a review will follow soon!) and I desperately needed a new bottle of foundation. At first I refused to buy a new bottle of True Match (below you can see the old bottle and how it looks as if it's still full), but after a couple of weeks with just concealer and powder I started to miss using foundation. It was time to stop being stubborn and to get a new bottle of foundation!
I was surprised to see that they changed the packaging (well the sticker I suppose, and the bottle is still made of glass...). I believe that they improved the formula as well although I didn't really notice a difference to be honest. But according to the bottle they did add SPF 17, which is pretty nice! I guess I can finally throw the old one away...maybe. (Is it weird that I reeeeally want to get my hands on that last bit of foundation that's left inside? It seems impossible to get that bottle cap off though, grr!).
It's not really related to clothes/make-up but aren't these little cup thingies adorable? They're like giant cupcake cups, the material is actually pretty thin but I don't really mind, anything cupcake related rocks!
I didn't purchase this during the shopping trip but I still wanted to show you my new best friend: say hello to my e-reader! I love reading books (my whole family enjoys reading books actually, we have multiple bookshelf's stuffed with books here at home), and thanks to this e-reader I can easily carry hundreds of books with me. Love it!
And here's a picture of our little fluffball Lara, not a recent buy, but still a thousand times more valuable than all those other things in this post! ;)
