EOTD: Coloured Waterline
Hey everyone! A little while ago I mentioned being into the 'coloured lash line look' but today I want to show something different. When I'm getting ready in the morning I'm usually in a rush, so I like to keep my make-up simple. I often use a little bit of subtle brown eyeshadow, but I also love a little pop of colour! Today I went to school with a coloured waterline, something that is super quick and easy to do. I didn't have a purple eye pencil, but below I'll show you how I fixed that!
All you need is a white eye pencil (and an eyeshadow of your choice)! I showed this little trick months ago (you can find that post here) but I thought that it could use an update!
All you need to do is dip the eye liner into your eyeshadow. I'm using a green this time, but for the EOTD I used the purple one.
Here you can see a little swatch on the skin, it's exactly the same colour as the eyeshadow! When you're done, you can sharpen your eye pencil and it will be back to normal. You don't even need some 'high quality' eye pencil for this, I use 04 White by Essence which works fine. I use this trick all the time, it works well on the waterline but it also works on the skin.
And in case you're thinking 'that probably won't last all day', you'll be surprised! ;) Okay, it won't look perfect at the end of the day, but there will be plenty of colour left. My ordinary eye pencils give the same result, so I'm satisfied! If you don't want to spend too much money on eye pencils, start with getting a white one!

How to: Lipstick as blush?
I have read it a lot of times 'use your lipstick as a blush!' but for some reason I never felt like trying it. Wouldn't it feel weird and sticky? And I was pretty sure that it would be too pigmented for my pale cheeks as well. However, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Maybe it's because it's getting sunnier outside, but I have a craving for new blushes! But how easy would it be if I could use my semi-huge lipstick collection in stead?
I decided to try it out with one of my favourite lipsticks by Nyx, Paris. It's a very sweet and wearable pink shade. It's also a very creamy lipstick, perfect for an experiment like this!
Before applying it as a blush, I swatched it on my hand first. After that, I blended it out with my fingers to see how it would look on my skintone. Not bad eh?
In the picture above I'm wearing the lipstick on my cheeks and lips. I have to say that I quite like it! I just dabbed a few spots of the lipstick on my cheeks, blended everything with my fingers and I was done!
I'm happy that I have another use for my lipsticks! I have quite a few, and it would be a waste if I have to throw all of them away someday with 90% of product left. I really don't want to turn into some make-up collector, I want to use everything I have! If you want to try this yourself, try it out on your hand first and make sure that your hands are clean ;)Have you tried this before?

My 5 favourite make-up brands of the moment
Hello everyone! As some of you might know, I'm a huge fan of budgetproof make-up brands! For some reason, buying an affordable product with awesome quality makes me feel really good. It's as if I found some sort of little treasure ;) After all, it's easier to find good quality when you go for the high end make-up brands! Today I'm going to show you 5 of my favourite make-up brands, some a bit cheaper than others.
Let's start with NYX! I absolutely love their lipsticks, they are super creamy and very pigmented. I also like the Jumbo eye pencils (although I can't get along with the black one, called black bean), the Ultra pearl mania pigments and their little palettes. I can't wait to give their cream blushes a try!
Next is Sleek! I've only tried their nail polish and eyeshadow palettes so far, but those palettes are so VERY nice! They can be a bit crumbly, but they are very pigmented and the shades are long-lasting. I really want to try their blushes and Pout polishes someday.
I just love MUA, the 'everything is just a pound' brand from Superdrug! Their single eyeshadows are on top of my list, but I also like their lip products and eyeliners. In the future, I want to give the Eye dust a try!
Barry M is my number 1 nail polish brand. I like their lipsticks as well, but their nail paints are awesome! They offer a lot of nice shades and try to keep up with the trends (coloured crackle nail polish anyone?). I'd still love to try their famous Dazzle dust though!
It was hard to pick number 5, but eventually I went for Maybelline. They sell my current favourite mascara and my favourite foundation, so I figured that the brand definitely earned a spot in this top 5! I'm actually not a huge fan of their lipsticks, but I'm really interested in their newest product: the Superstay 24HRS lipcolor. What are your favourite brands?

Recent buys
Hey guys! I don't have a lot of new things to show you, but I had enough to write a little blog post! This week I've been 'bag hunting' and I really needed to get some other things. By the way, I didn't know that it was so hard to find a nice looking, small bag. Most of them looked like they belonged to my grandmother! But I managed to find a nice one (with a very nice 50% off tag attached to it!). Below you can see all the recent purchases.
Here are the beauty related things! My sister is a huuuge fan of dry shampoo, so I decided to get myself a bottle. They changed the style now and raised the price (bleh!) but you can read my old review here. I haven't used it yet, but I'm sure that it will become part of my beauty must haves! Dry shampoo is some kind of holy grail to a lot of beauty bloggers out there. The other product is an eye cream, it contains SPF6 and I really wanted a tube this time in stead of a little jar. Those little jars are pure horror with my long nails!
Now it's time to show the little shoulderbag! Sometimes I just don't feel like dragging a big bag with me. It's nice that I can carry a laptop around if I have to, but if I just go shopping I prefer something small like the one above. It's by Axel David, an unfamiliar brand to me but from what I've seen their bags are very colourful and cute! I'm glad that this one can hold all of my essentials, it even has a mirror inside and a little key strap. Love it!

Eye looks with Glitter Eyeliner
Hey everyone! Remember the blog post about the MUA glitter eyeliners? Today I'm going to show you my favourite way to use them: on top of a black gel liner. It's simple and easy, but the glitter gives it a nice little bit of extra oomph!
I made two very similar looks, one with the golden eyeliner and one with the purple one. With both make-up looks, I used a black gel liner as a base and applied some of the glitter on top of it. It looks very pretty in the sunglight, but it's still nothing too dramatic. The second one is less wearable than the look with the gold (very heavy eyeliner), but that was my 'clubbing look' from last night ;)
Here we have the full faces, on the left you can see the look with the golden eyeliner and on the right I'm wearing the purple version. They both stayed in place until it was time to take the make-up off, for just a pound each they really are awesome! The golden glitter eyeliner is probably my favourite, I love how it looks on top of the black.
How do you feel about glitter? Do you love it or hate it?

Barry M Glossy Tube in 'Buzz'
Hey everyone! Today I'm going to show you a limited edition item from Barry M, one of my favourite make-up brands. It's a Glossy tube Super shiny lip gloss (...what a mouth full) and it was part of the free make-up set to celebrate Valentine's day. I know, that means that it's not wishlist material anymore, but it's still worthy of a blog post! ;)
First things first, the tube looks nice with the clear packaging and golden print. I'm not a huge fan of lip gloss tubes though, I find them pretty messy to work with. But they can be nice if you like to mix different shades together :)
And there we have the bubblegum pink lipgloss! It smells really fruity, I find the scent way too strong actually. It's not so bad that I don't want to use the lip gloss anymore, but it's definitely a downside. I'm guessing that all of the Glossy tubes smell like this, so I'd smell them first if you plan to buy one!
The consistency is pretty thick and creamy. It does feel very nice and smooth on the lips, it's not sticky at all. It also looks fantastic with my Viva Glam Gaga lipstick!
I think that it is a lovely colour, but it's not as pigmented on the lips as I expected. It looks very nice when you layer it over a lipstick in a similar shade though! If you're interested in the Glossy tubes, you can find all of the other ones here. What is your favourite lip gloss brand?

Make Up Academy Glitter Eyeliners
Glitter...it looks so pretty but it can be a pain to work with. But for some reason I can never resist all those sparkly bits! Today I'm going to take a look at the glitter eyeliners from MUA. If you're not familiar with the brand, you can find their products at Superdrug and all of the MUA products are only a pound! I'm a huge fan of their eyeshadows, the price/quality relationship is just great!
Aren't they gorgeous? Shade 10 is a black gel with silver glitter, Shade 4 is a clear gel with golden/ bronze glitter and Shade 7 is also a clear gel with purple glitter. There are 7 other shades, going from wearable to extreme!
The wand looks pretty cheap but it works surprisingly well! It's made of plastic but it picks up a nice amount of product and isn't wobbly. It doesn't work so nicely when I want to use it to apply some eyeliner on the lower lash line, but overall it's a nice wand.
Finally, the swatches! From left to right we have Shade 7, Shade 10 and Shade 4. This is just one swipe, if you want an opaque look you'll need to layer them a bit (or use a similar eyeliner as a base). I think that they are beautiful! They aren't messy to work with, long-lasting and the glitter looks stunning. They're also pretty easy to remove. Removing glitter is never fun, but with these you won't be scrubbing for hours to get rid of all the glitter particles! These are great if you are looking for an affordable glitter eyeliner. Shade 10 is a bit more wearable than the other two, but all of them are lovely to experiment with!

W7 Perfect Eyes Eyeshadow
Hello everyone! I'm a huge fan of budgetproof products, and W7 is definitely part of that category. I read some amazing things about their eyeshadows and for 1,99 Euro each (3 for just 5 Euro) I couldn't leave them behind! You get 3,5 grams of product and all of the shades are shimmery (and very pigmented). Their texture is very smooth and creamy, so they are not crumbly or little 'fall out' monsters ;) Let's take a look at the shades:
And here are the swatches, from left to right we have Granite, Golden Eye and Burnt Plum. They are all dry swatches, I didn't use a base/primer this time because they are very creamy and pigmented and didn't need the extra help. They are also easy to blend and pretty long-lasting. Yes, they are a great budgetproof product! I can only think of one downside: they can be a little bit hard to find. But with a little bit of help from Google, you should be able to get your hands on them if you want to give them a try! What is your favourite budgetproof brand?

Tutorial: Orchid Eyes
Hey everyone! My dad knows a lot about plants and flowers, he really has one of the prettiest gardens I've ever seen! I'm sure that I got my love for nature (and animals) from him. I might not know as much as he does, but a nice bouquet of flowers just brightens my day! Orchids are one of my favourite flowers, which brings me to the tutorial ;) I haven't done one in a while, but today I'm going to show you how you can get soft and pretty looking eyes!
Here's a picture of all the things I've used for my eyes. Notice the super cheap eye pencil from Max? I've been using that one since I did the black eye pencil test and I really like it! Most of the other products are pretty budgetproof as well, the MUA eyeshadows for example are just awesome.
1: First I used a white base and I applied a golden eyeshadow on the inner third of my eye.2: Then I applied the pink eyeshadow in the middle, and used the purple eyeshadow for the outer third of my eyelid. (I smudged a bit of it under the lower lashline as well).
3: Take a shade that matches your skin tone and use that to blend the edges.
4: After that I took a black eyeshadow to line the upper lashline and used a black eyepencil to line my waterline.5: Last but not least, I curled my lashes and applied some mascara. Below I have some pictures of the finished result!
Simple but sweet, definitely a nice look for Spring! It doesn't look extremely girly either, I think that a bit of pink looks great on all skin tones.
Here are the full faces, with two different lip colours (and two different hairstyles, I was feeling a bit creative!). The first look is my favourite, I used a lavender ish lipstick in that picture. On my cheeks I have a tiny bit of blush, the Fruity blush in Pink Apple Blossom. Below I have a picture of all the lip products I used.
For the first look I used a pink lip liner from Essence, a lipstick by NYX (Castle) and a purple lip gloss by H&M. For the second look I used a lipstick by N.Y.C. (Lilac dream) and a pink lip gloss from MUA.I hope that everyone had a nice weekend!

I went shopping! (Make-up, skin care etc.)
Hello everyone! I went beauty shopping with my mum and my younger sister and today I'm going to show you what we bought! I really wanted a new foundation, my sister was looking for some skin care products and my mother was hoping to find a good deodorant spray. Luckily we found some '50% off/buy one get one for free' products, gotta love a sale!
Let's start with my new products! I got the True Match foundation by l'Oreal. I heard/read a lot of good things about that one, and I really needed a foundation that actually matches my skin tone! This is their lightest shade, which is perfect for me. Those two eyeshadows (from w7) are gorgeous as well, a review will follow soon!
My sister got some Garnier products, hopefully those products will help her to clear her skin of acne! We're going to wait a few weeks to see how well they work, and then (with her help) I'll write a review. I don't have acne myself, so it will be nice to add something 'fresh' to my blog!
My mum got the same foundation and an eyeshadow of the the same range. We're both pretty happy with the foundation, it makes our skin look smooth and soft. I'll wait with a decent review until I've used it for a couple of weeks just to be sure that it's worth the money! My mum got herself 2 Deodorant sprays as well. Not sure if I'll review them or not (one of them smells like nail polish remover) but if they turn out to be must-have items I might change my mind ;)Have a nice weekend everyone!

Giveaway Winners!
Hi guys! This is just a quick little post to tell everyone that I (well my sister actually) finally picked the giveaway winners! It took a lot longer than I thought, my apologies! I was kinda busy with college and I had to write every name down on a piece of paper (I believe that I had to do that 500 times or so...). But we put them all in a bowl, picked two names and now I can officially announce the two lucky winners!
I was really surprised when I saw the names because I've been following both of these ladies for a while now. They often visit my blog as well, so it feels like I know them a little. Congratulations both of you!
I want to thank everyone for entering, it was awesome to read all of those sweet messages. And no worries if you didn't win, there will be more giveaways in the future!

Rainbow Nails
Hi guys! A couple of days ago I saw an awesome 'Nail art how-to' by Serena from Beautylab called Rainbow Graffiti. I couldn't wait to give it a try! Serena is a Dutch beauty blogger, but she does have a 'translate this blog' option at the right side of her blog (near the bottom). If you want to see how she created this cute look, you can find her post here. Below you can find more information about my own little creation ;)
I used the 5 nail polishes above. From left to right we have: 'What do u think?' from the 'We saw it first' collection by Essence, then we have Acid yellow and Shocking pink from Barry M, Bella's choice from H&M and last but not least: Sold out forever by Catrice. You could also use different shades of pink for a fun effect (or greens and browns for a camouflage look). It's all up to you!
For the crackle effect I used the 'instant nail effects' nail paint by Barry M. In stead of applying it the normal way I went for the 'criss cross' style, you can read more about that here. Below I have some more pictures of the finished look!

You basically use the least pigmented (or lightest) shade as a base and randomly add stripes/dots of all the other colours. Finish it with a layer of crackle nail polish and you're done! It's simple and fun but it looks like you did some complicated sort of nail art. And that's exactly how I like to paint my nails ;)Thank you for the idea Serena, it's so pretty! (Oh, and I nearly fainted when she tweeted that she liked my nails, since she's a pretty well-known blogger here). Next time I'm going to try this with my favourite colours (pink, purple and yellow). I think that I'm hooked!
