My favourite beauty products of 2010
Hi everyone! I thought it would be fun to show my favourite products of this year. All of these things are not only very nice, I really can't imagine my life as a make-up addict without them! Most of them are also very affordable, which is always a plus. I made four little groups: Hands & nails, Lips, Face and Eyes.
1: Trind Nail Repair: This really is my Holy Grail when my nails need a boost. I even bought a bottle for my mother, it's just fantastic stuff. (review)2: Nivea nourishing hand cream: This was actually a gift from my mother (we share beauty tips all the time). I use it for my hands and nails and it does a great job at keeping my skin soft. It absorbs really fast as well, love it!
1: NYX round lipstick in Power: I like these lipsticks in general, but Power is my favourite shade! (swatch)2: Hema Jip & Janneke lipgloss in Light pink: The perfect shade of pink lipgloss for me, it was a LE unfortunately. (swatch)
3: Lip therapy SPF15 lip balm: I keep this one with me at all times, it helps me to keep my lips super smooth. (review)
1: Mayfair Feather finish Pressed powder in Peach: Love this! It absorbs the oil and gives me some coverage, without ruining the foundation in any way.2: Collection 2000 Light diffusing concealer in Light: The best concealer I've tried so far (and I've tried plenty), I love the brush applicator it has.
3: Maybelline Superstay foundation: My favourite foundation (review)
4: Nestosyl: You might think 'huh? What is that orange tube doing there?' but the answer is simple: that's my absolute must-have. My beauty secret. Its nickname is 'The Skin Chemist in a tube' and it works for so many things like insect bites, itching, cuts, burns, acne breakouts etc. When I see signs of a breakout somewhere, I use this stuff to make sure it will go away.
1: Naked by Urban Decay: Gorgeous palette, very pigmented with a lot of wearable colours. (review, swatches)2: Strike a pose by NYX: I use this everyday, the dark brown is the perfect shade for my eyebrows and it has a lot of useful colours like a matte black and white. (swatches)
3: Jumbo eye pencil by NYX in Milk: I use this as a base sometimes and it's a must-have for my swatches. (swatch)
4: Maybelline Colossal mascara: My favourite mascara! (review)
5: Essence gelliner in Vintage style: a great black gelliner, very easy to work with and it stays in place all day. This was another LE. (swatch)
Now you've seen all my favourites! ;) I hope it was useful to some of you, what are your favourite products of 2010?

Maybelline MNY eyeshadows
Hello everyone! Today I'm going to look at two single eyeshadows from MNY, the 'little sister' of Maybelline. The products by MNY are very budget-proof and I was pretty interested in their eyeshadows (and nail polishes, but they will follow later!). You pay 2,49 euro for an eyeshadow and they have some amazing colours, I picked 437 and my sister went for the colour 637. Of course I'm going to swatch both of them!
Yes, unfortunately they don't have a name, only a number. 437 is a very nice chocolate Brown and 637 is a gorgeous dark Teal.
I'm not a fan of the white container, but overall I really like the packaging. I love art, and MNY definitely looks very creative and artistic to me.
Here's a close-up of the colours, according to their website 637 is a 'shimmer' and 437 is a 'pearl'.
I swatched both of them dry and on top of a white base (Milk by Nyx). 637 really impressed me, it doesn't look very impressive on its own but with a base it really pops! It's the same with 437, that one also needs a little bit of help to really shine. The brown is a very versatile eyeshadow, I also use it for my eyebrows sometimes and a little bit of shaping. If you want to experiment with colour though, I recommend 637!So, if you are looking for something affordable I'd give them a shot. The MNY eyeshadows may not look pigmented at first sight but if you use a base they are stunning and far from cheap looking. They have a lot of colours as well, so I'm very sure that I'll buy some of these again at some point ;)

I love...Bath and Shower cream
Hi everyone! Today I'm going to look at 6 different Bath and Shower creams from I love...cosmetics, the Lots of Bubbles Collection. You can probably find this at a Douglas or Superdrug (the set is around 13 euro I believe) and you get 100ml of each gorgeous scent. Let's take a look at some pictures:

Unfortunately we don't have a bathtub so I can only use them as shower gels, but I'm definitely a fan! They feel really creamy and create a lot of bubbles which I love. Each colourful bottle has its own 'little story' on the front tempting you to open it, smell it and fall in love with it ;)
Let's start with Coconut & Cream, at first I was like 'hmm..the bottle isn't really that colourful, we will see' but it smells like coconuts and milk, it's really good!
Next is the Lemons & Limes one, it kinda reminds me of bubblegum for some reason. It's not really my kind of scent but not so horrible that I'd never use it.
Here's Mango & Papaya, a very nice and fruity scent. The scent is not so delicious that I'd repurchase it, but it's still a nice one if you don't like the overly sweet scents.
Strawberries & Milkshake looks very promising, and it's definitely a scent I'd go for. It smells very sweet but the scent is not so strong that it makes others avoid you ;)
Raspberry & Blackberry is also pretty sweet and really does smell like berries. I usually go for the strawberry scented products, but this is a very nice alternative.
Last but not least, Vanilla & Ice cream. The scent wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, but when you use this in the bathroom it turns out to be a lot more subtle. I still wouldn't repurchase this though. My absolute favourite is Coconut and Cream (I need a full size bottle of it!), Raspberry & Blackberry and Strawberries & Milkshake are also very nice. Mango & Papaya is okay, but Vanilla & Ice cream and Lemons & Limes are just not my cup of tea. Liking a scent or not is very personal though, so if you come across them in a store I would definitely check them out!

My Christmas presents!
Merry Christmas! I thought it would be fun to show what Santa bought me this year and what my make-up looked like on Christmas Eve. I had a wonderful night with my family, we really have some sort of 'schedule' on Christmas Eve ;) First we prepare food together and eat, then we listen to Christmas songs and play games, and last but not least we unwrap our presents together!
I kept my make-up very simple, it's basically just a tiny pop of colour to match my necklace. It was going to be a long night and my skin isn't in a great condition lately, so I wanted to keep the make-up to a minimum.Next are the presents from Santa! Only a few things are beauty related but I didn't want to leave the other 80% out (well okay, I did leave the underwear out, but I'm sure nobody will miss that) :P
Of course Santa couldn't ignore my small Hello Kitty addiciton, so here's the cutest stress ball ever!
Here are some of the beauty items, an eyeshadow and some nail polishes. Swatches/reviews will follow :)
An 'I love...' miniature collection. They're bubble bath and shower creams, I'm going to review these as well :)
And this is my new bag, it matches the purse :) I'm so excited about this because inside there's a special spot for my laptop as well (and a key strap!). No more bag switching when I want to take my laptop with me!
The bag also came with a dust bag and a very little purse :) The brand Bagsac is new to me but their items feel pretty luxerious and I love most of their bags. They work with a lot of black, chains, studs..pretty edgy!Needless to say, I'm very happy with all of the gifs I've gotten :) Did you get anything from Santa?

Urban Decay 'Underground' and 'MCRA'
Merry Christmas to all of you! Of course I had to do a blogpost about something sparkly today, so I'm going to talk about the famous 'Midnight Cowboy Rides Again' by Urban Decay. I have a new 24/7 liner in the colour 'Underground' to show as well, which actually goes perfect with the eyeshadow. As some of you might remember, I got both of them from my fellow blogger Maria :)Here are a couple of pictures to show how the packaging and the colours look:

Midnight Cowboy Rides Again is a gorgeous golden champagne shade with a lot of sparkles. It's pretty versatile because the colour is neutral, but the glittter gives it something extra. You do have to be careful when you use this because there will be some glitter fallout (some girls absolutely hate it), but the colour is just so pretty! Underground is a medium brown liner and a bit shimmery, a great neutral shade for everyday use.
Here are the swatches, I didn't use a base this time so the swatches are all 'dry'. The liner is very smooth to work with, but the eyeshadow is definitely full of glitter so I prefer to use it wet and on a sticky base. The first time it ended up everywhere because I was just being stubborn and didn't want to change my make-up routine, but after walking around like a discoball for 3 days you'll learn to be careful with it :P
I was curious if Underground looked anything like my other brown 24/7 liner Whiskey, but they are totally different. Underground looks more taupe, and Whiskey is a dark brown with a bit of a red undertone. That's all for today! It's time for me to leave the laptop alone and join my family. I hope everyone will have a nice Christmas and that you can spend it with the ones you love :)

Christmas nails: Snowy Night
I was going to do an awesome Christmas tutorial with gradient effects and self painted snowflakes..but that turned out reeeally bad. So I had to go for plan B: something simple with a creative name so that it still sounds semi-impressive. I've seen the gorgeous red & gold combinations some other bloggers came up with, but I decided to go for blue and silver. It doesn't scream Christmas, but I think that it still looks pretty elegant :)
Moving on to the lucky nail polishes! I picked number 77 by Theatre Cosmetics, a very pretty midnight blue with very subtle blue shimmer.
Of course I had to pick my favourite glitter: 460D Kaleidoscope by Wet n Wild. This nail polish has a clear base but it has very pretty silvery holographic glitter in it. The glitters are semi-chunky and multi-coloured (they reflect green, red and blue). Love it!
Here I have 2 coats of blue nail polish and 2-3 coats of the glitter topper. You can't see much of the 'multi-coloured glitter' during the day, but at night the glitter really comes to life.
It's very simple but I like it! If nail art isn't really your thing, something quick and easy like this could be the perfect solution.
Here you can see the difference between day and night. It was hard to get a nice picture of the multi-coloured glitter, in real life it looks even nicer at night (and the colours really suit the Christmas theme!).Are you going to do something special with your nails for Christmas?
