Swatches (lipproducts): MAC To the Beach and more
I'm definitely a bit of lipstick girl, since I started my blog I just slowly developped a thing for lipsticks. Until half a year ago I only bought random shades for special occasions, and when I did get more interested I kinda stayed on the safe side and went for pinks. Now I got to the point where I want to own all sorts of colours and brands, but before I start to babble too much about random stuff I'll share the exciting news: I finally got the chance to try a MAC lipstick out! To me that was pretty exciting, because I always read so much about MAC on here but it doesn't fit into my budget. Thanks to an awesome giveaway I won the lipstick and a lipglass from the MAC to the beach collection, I'm super happy that they got here so soon! Today I'm going to show the swatches, and some extra ones from a few other lipproducts I recently got.
The first picture of my lips shows how they look when I have nothing on, and below that one you can see a picture with the lipproduct.
Here we have MAC Lazy day, which is a gorgeous light pink. This will look great if you have a very light skin like I do. It's a pretty creamy one and won't dry your lips out, but the pigmentation is pretty sheer. I think this is a very nice, subtle lipstick.
This is Easy Lounger, from the same collection. My first lipglass from MAC and I think it's pretty nice. This is also a very light pink, with lots of shimmer. Unfortunately it's not highly pigmented, so I wouldn't recommend getting this if you expect a lot of colour. But it will give your lips a lot of sparkle and I bet it looks great layered over a nude shade.
This one is Choco Pearl by Maybelline, my mum gave this to me because she already owned a colour like that. I'm not sure if it suits me or not to be honest, but I do like the lipsticks from the color sensational line. It won't dry your lips out and the staying power is decent.
I got this one from a giveaway as well and I simply love it. The name is Snog and it's by Rimmel London. It's a very pretty pink colour, not too nude ish and not anything too bright either. It fills in the lines and will give you smooth, glossy lips. The smell is pretty funny though, it reminds me of oranges. I really like this one for the colour and texture, although I'd suggest checking the smell before you purchase it to make sure you don't hate it.
I like the Catrice absolute moisture lipsticks, but this shade was a tiny bit of a fail. The colour is Soft Coral and when I swatched it on the skin it looked pretty pigmented, but on the lips it's very sheer. I don't hate it, but it's not what I wanted. I was looking for a well pigmented orange/coral ish lipstick, this one is 'just' a pretty everyday kinda colour.
I picked this one up for 1 euro during a shopping trip, and I definitely don't regret it! Even though the name is 'Rumba Red' it looks more like a pretty shade of pink to me. I didn't notice that line on my bottom lip before, but I still adore this lipgloss. It's well pigmented, cheap (even without the discount I got) and it's very buildable.
That's all for now ^^ but there will be more soon, I ordered a couple of new NYX lippies during the Cherry Culture sale, so when they arrive there will be another (bigger) post with lip swatches.
Are you into lipsticks as well? If so, leave me your favourite one below, I'd love to put some more on my wishlist!

Sedona Lace your Face with NV Beauty
Here are my 2 entries for the Sedona Lace your Face contest :) For more information about that you can go here. I created two looks because there were two pictures I really really liked and immediately got that 'inspiration vibe' from. Here comes the first one:
I wanted to create a mysterious/kind of graceful look, because that's how the landscape in the picture below looks to me (I used that one for inspiration). In the picture the branches of the tree drew my attention, so in my look I wanted to do the same with the eyeliner. The white symbolizes the light peeking through. I used brown (rocks) to blend everything out and I used a white eyeliner as a contrast against the smudged blue to symbolize the beautiful water. Of course, the light coloured highlight represents the sky :) And the wig just helps to make everything look extra mysterious :P (I just really wanted to make the looks look different, so the second one will be without a wig).
Here are a couple more pictures of my eye:
Here comes the second look, we're going from seductive and mysterious to pure and innocent:
This time I tried to come up with something that would suit a nymph. The picture below (the second picture I got my inspiration from) grabbed my attention because of that colourful forest, and I tried to picture what kind of people would live there. (Ha, maybe my nerdy side got carried away a bit). Besides using lots of pretty greens, I also used some silver to add a sparkly touch, like the way leaves shimmer when they get wet. I made my waterline brown to resemble the ground.
Here are a couple more pictures of my eye:

There you have it, my two entries for the contest :) Now I'll keep my fingers crossed and pray :P The prize is super awesome and I already had my eyes on those brushes after Nicole did a review >.> I just didn't want to buy a set until I learned a thing or two about make-up and how to take proper care of so many brushes, let's hope that I've learned enough ;)
Wish me luck!

Butterfly make-up!
Yup, that's not me :P My sister entered a contest (you had to make a look inspired by an animal) and she gave me a few pictures to post on my blog as well. I really think that she did an awesome job, she's 14 years old so she hardly uses any make-up yet. Here is what she looked like after borrowing my wig:
Perhaps I should ask her to make a tutorial :P I'm not sure what she used exactly, but the lipstick is definitely Power by NYX.

Paying a million to be part of Alejandro?
When I watched Lady Gaga's new video, I thought there was something strange (besides the dancing guys in high heels) about the guy above. Today I read that this 30 year old Russian paid around a million to appear in her video! Mr. Arkadiy (big millionaire) claims to be her biggest fan, although you'd think otherwise when you see his grumpy performance :PYou can watch the video here, if you pause it around 0:22 and 7:00 you can see his little moments of fame~
So, imagine that you're a millionaire: Would you pay a million to appear in a video of your favourite artist? At first I thought it was pretty insane, but on the other side, it would be very cool as well to make yourself a little bit immortal like that :) I'd still buy nail polish and make-up in stead though >.>

H&M nail polish: Get a Rose 4 Me
So a couple of days ago I bought this nail polish at an H&M store, I was there to look for 'Bella's choice' but I couldn't let this one behind :) The name is 'Get a rose 4 me' and because I'm a sucker for pinks, I fell in love with it right away. It's a sweet bubblegum colour, very girly and in my eyes a nice, soft summer colour. Here comes a swatch:
Even without a topcoat (I desperately need a new one!) it's pretty shiny. I think this is a perfect example of a 'love it or hate it' colour. Not everyone likes those fluffy cute colours, but I think this one will be one of my favourites this summer ;)I also want to let everyone know that I'm going to try to post more often :) I don't always post everything I originally wanted to post because I fear that no one will like it, but recently I lost some followers and I think it's because I don't post as much as others do. I've just been very busy with college/exams (but that's pretty much over now, thank god!) so I can focus more on blogging again, which is something I really love.
Aaaanyways, let me know if you own any H&M polishes, I really like the ones I got but I was in such a rush last time that I didn't look at all the colours :P

Trying on my wig: I look...gothic?
Yesterday my wig arrived, so today I wanted to do an awesome look with it. Things didn't really go so well though...my blending brush shedded like crazy, I got glitter on me and my falsies just refused to stay on...so yeah, lots and lots of frustration and no look to brag about :P But I did want to show of my wig because that's all I've been talking about lately, so I just did some simple make-up for now:
I started with a clean face, applied my foundation and then did my make-up (mascara and a bit of black smudgy eyeliner + lipbalm and my NYX round lipsick in Heather) A tiny bit of blush to finish it off and tadaa~ I could put on my wig and scare the neighbours.
Yeah, I didn't notice it at first but with my black top and everything it looks pretty gothic :P Here are a couple of extra pictures:

Overall, I'm glad that I got this wig. It makes bright lipsticks look awesome, although it does make me feel like Katy Perry's little sister. I don't have my wigcaps yet so pinning all that hair up is a huge pain in the ass right now, but it's definitey worth it! (Even though my mum named my wig 'half a cat' pft...mothers)
Have a nice weekend!

Wig update and my perfume collection
To all the girls who tried to help me to make my mind up: thank you so much! I've used the whole weekend to think things through, and eventually I went for this one:
Number two was very very pretty, but I feel like this one will suit me a bit better. I promise to show a few pictures when she arrives! Hopefully she will get here thursday/friday, and I already have a make-up look in mind ;) My wig caps are coming from Hong Kong though, they won't arrive here till next week, so I'm afraid I need to do some DIY stuff because I can't wait that long :P
The rest of this post will be about my perfume collection, I love perfumes although I'm not really a collector. To be honest, I don't even buy them myself! All of my perfumes were gifts or belonged to my mum. I think the ladies in my family rarely buy perfume, in stead we give each other those pretty bottles around Christmas ;)
I keep all of them on my bookshelf:
Here are my 2 favourites:
Promesse, from Cacharel: I just needed to have this scent after seeing the commercial (the guy reminded me of my own love interest) and luckily, it's a gorgeous scent as well (and with need to have I meant asking 'santa' to get it for me) :P Think of sweet orchids, blackberry, citrus and you'll have an idea of the scent :)
Flora, by Gucci: Great commercial as well, I got this one last christmas (again from a wish list >.>) and I love the scent. This one also smells like citrus, with mandarin and peony. You can also smell a few basenotes like rose and sandalwood, to me it was love at first sight.
Those two come from my mothers collection and have been passed down to me. First we have Soft Musk from Avon, besides musk it smells of jasmine and roses. A very sensual scent, musk is supposed to have a great effect on men but I haven't tried it out myself :P
The other one is Extase, I believe it's from Royal Sanders. I only know that it contains notes of white flowers, but I don't know exactly how to describe the scent :/
Here are a few more, first we have Cat deluxe at night from Naomi Campbell, Pear, peony and amber are a few of the notes. My sister has the other version of it, which is why I like it :) The next one is Horizon from Esprit, with jasmine, pink grapefruit, Lychee (I love Lychees!) and little bits of amber, musk and sandalwood. The last one is called Sexy Darling by Kylie Minogue, it contains red roses, pear, musk and sandalwood as well. (I have a thing for wood/floral scents it seems).
Finally, we have a few very random ones :P First is Sydney Women, I have no idea where it comes from or what it exactly smells like but it's pretty wood/floral ish as well :) The long one is called Garden of flowers, by Moara Shira. This one smells of violet, plum, jasmin, orange blossom and a whole bunch of other flowers. On the right we have Suddenly, from Uno, and that one smells of flowers as well, although I'm not sure what's exactly in it. It's one of my oldest ones, I've had it for years :)
I also keep my little perfume samples next to my perfumes, I'm not sure if those are all I have but I don't use them anyway. They are nice to have but most aren't that awesome, or just too expensive >.>
In the other corner I have an empty bag I just like and some products from the Divine bath collection. They are very pretty, so they're just for decoration :)
That's all there is to tell about my little collection of perfumes :) If you have the time, please leave me a comment with your personal favourite, I love trying out scents in the store and still need one for my next christmas wishlist anyway :P

I need help with picking a wig!
Here's the problem: I really want a wig to help me pull off certain looks, but I can't decide which one I want most. They both come from the same seller, have the exact same price, are from the same material, have the same colour etc. The only (slight) difference is the style.
Here are the two wigs I like:
The one above has layers, I find that one edgier and probably the most realistic looking out of the two. The one below has slightly wavy hair, that one is more romantic and sweet in my opinion.
At first I wanted to get the one below, but then my significant other told me the one above would suit me best (thanks hun). So now I'm having doubts, I like both but I'm only looking for one wig and they are very alike anyway. I have to make my mind up >.<
I want to hear some opinions first though, which one do you like best? If I'm honest, I'd say I'd feel more comfortable wearing the first wig because the style matches my own, but the second one is very pretty as well.

Taking you with me on a shopping trip!
The weather was beautiful, so earlier this week I hopped on a (pretty empty) bus and went to the city to pay Sephora a visit :D My sister was looking for a certain Benefit lipstick, so I wanted to try to find it for her. I never went to a Sephora store before, until a couple of months ago make-up didn't interest me much so brands like Too faced or YSL meant nothing, now I was standing there as if I arrived in heaven! A MUA offered to do my make-up, that sure was a great experience, she used Benefit products on me and went for a natural look. I wanted to show you guys so I slipped into a restroom later to take pictures. They didn't turn out great (restroom lighting is still crappy in 2010) but they give you an idea:
This is what she used on me: Firmology (Soothing serum), Eyecon (eyecream) ,That Gal (pink tinted primer), Gorgeous (foundation) ,Stay don't stray (primer and concealer for the eyes), Sugarbomb (blush), Benefit lipbalm SPF15.She really was SUPER kind to me, not trying to sell me stuff but just introducing me to Benefit cosmetics. Their foundation feels super light, so that was one of my favourites. Unfortunately their prices are kinda high, so I didn't want to buy anything right away. I do like the brand though, the picture was taken in a restroom (during a super hot day) and I still look decent :P That says enough ;)
After that I went to H&M to pick up some nail polish:
You can also see the Benefit Spring folder the MUA gave me, with a lolly :P The polishes I got are (from left to right): Turquise Kitty, Pink Kitty, Get a rose 4 me and Bella's choice. I got a lipgloss in Rumba red as wel, it's an awesome buildable colour. And then I went to some other little stores and did some random swatching in a drugstore, I needed to wait a couple of minutes for my bus to arrive and I love to just swatch lipsticks for fun.
That was pretty much it :) I do have something else to show, my new 'toy' I use for my blogging moments: my Eee PC Seashell in black. You can already see me working on my next post, my perfume collection :P
Do you enjoy shopping on your own? And if you have a favourite Benefit product, please share! I do feel like trying something out but I want to make sure it's an awesome product.

NYX Round Lipstick Swatches: A look at my collection
Lately I've been obsessed with these lipsticks, until a week ago I didn't have any and could only watch at the beautiful swatches online but 2 things made a very big difference: First, Ashley sent me a couple (part of winning her giveaway) and second...Cherry Culture had a sale going on >.> Back then I decided it was now or never, so I ordered a couple from my never ending wish list. Today I'm going to show the swatches and share my thoughts, although I can already tell you that I fell in love with them!I did these swatches together with my sister, she did the 'on the skin' bits and the lip swatches are mine :) I didn't use anything besides the lipstick, which could still look totally different on your own lips, so it's always nice to look at more swatches. Before I bought mine, I scrolled through countless of pictures to figure out which ones I wanted most.
Okay, I have one more thing to say before I show the pictures :) I want to include these lipsticks in my next giveaway (well the top 4) so there will be a poll with all of the names up for a week (maybe longer, kinda depends on the votes) so people can select their favourites. If you're thinking about entering my next giveaway or just feel like voting: Don't forget to go to the poll and select the 4 you like most! :)
We're starting with Paris: a gorgeous shade of pink. It's a very girly and Barbie ish colour, not that 'super omg unique' but I just love pinks.
Heather is nothing like the usual types of pink I see, it's a pretty dark colour actually and I'm still not sure if I should like this one or not. I expected it to be a bit lighter than that.
Ashley sent me this one, it was on top of my wish list and I'm very happy with it :) It's a very natural shade of pink which makes it a nice everyday colour, I think this one will suit a lot of girls.
Milan made me look like a vampire, but I still love it! I don't have anything like it, it looks like a very dark brown on me, even darker than in the picture.
Power is anoter great everyday colour, it's a light shade of pink but not too pale. I definitely like this one.
Another one from Ashley :) I ordered one myself but I gave that one to my sister because I don't really need two of them. To me it's a bit of a toned down version of Milan. It has a brown undertone but it's nothing extreme, I hoped that it would look more pink on me but I still think it's a nice everyday colour.
I love Louisiana, so vibrant and pink! When the weather gets warmer I always use brighter lipsticks because I'm usually too lazy to do something nice with my eyes. Louisiana really gives you an edgy and cute look.
Doll is a pretty colour, another nice one for everyday (I really wanted a couple for everyday use) and this is one of my favourites. There's a bit of colour but it's very flattering and nothing too crazy.
I love Fig as well, it looks a bit more vibrant in real life and has a little bit of a peachy undertone to it.
Spell bound is my POW lipstick, it almost looks like a neon pink on the skin and it's gorgeous on the lips. Love at first sight.
Last but not least we have Castle, a purple shade. I feared this one would make me look scary but it's pretty lovely. I didn't really like the frosty look of it, but I still like the colour.Good points:
-They are super pigmented and apply evenly, one coat is all you need.
-There are 144 colours, it goes from nice everyday shades to the black/purple etc. ones so I'm sure everyone will find something to like.
-Very affordable
-Cute packaging, I like how the bottom bit comes off so you can use it with a lip brush.
Bad points:
-The scent was very annoying at first, it has a pretty strong scent that made me feel like I swallowed some perfume. It goes away after a while but I can imagine that some girls dislike those kind of lipsticks.
-They do stain a little.
-They won't last for hours. That's not a problem for me, but if you're hoping to find a long lasting lipstick these are not meant for you :)
I would definitely recommend these, they have an amazing formula and they are the best drugstore lipstick I've tried so far, without a doubt. They are great for experimenting with colours without paying a fortune, or if you just want to add more lipsticks to your collection. I definitely want more!
