kitten...uhmm, catupdate!

Yes, our little bad boys are almost 11 months old now, so they are definitely not kittens anymore ;) Time goes really fast, I'll never forget that moment when I saw them for the first time, it feels like yesterday! Beau is starting to look a lot like Lara (our other Ragdoll) and sometimes it's hard to keep them apart, although Beau is a lot more vocal :P He also hates getting brushed, which is something I didn't expect because he never looked scared/uncomfortable before (as a kitten he was never afraid of our dogs and never surprised by loud noises or anything else). And Ben? Ben started showing a bit of an 'unpleasant habit' a couple of weeks ago...spraying urine. He only does it in my room and we're not sure if it's something temporarily (maybe he felt stressed?) or not, but for now I just keep the door of my bedroom closed. Other than that he's a super sweet cat, a whole lot less vocal than his big brother and he doesn't mind getting brushed at all. He's quite the charmer when he wants some attention! I've added a couple more pictures below, including Lara of course. She's also part of the cat family, although she is such a well-behaved cat that I don't really have anything new to tell about her..she's playful and sleeps a lot ;)

They got so big! Don't think their cat tunnel still fits to be honest ;)

I wish I could take all of the cats with me when I get my own place (I plan to move out after I graduate), but their home is here and I could never afford all that cat food :P It would be tempting to get my own cat though, I really like the red/flame point Ragdoll. A girl of course, so I could eventually introduce her to Ben/Beau ;)

Do you have any pets?

2 FOTDs: Neutral and Colourful

That I like make-up is no secret, but if someone would ask me 'What kind of eyeshadow is your absolute favourite? The neutral or bright shades?' I don't think I'd know what to say. I like the crazy and colourful looks, but I love the brown tones just as much! I think my make-up just reflects my mood, so when I'm not at school or working I'll simply wear whatever I like. Yes, even if that means my dad will choke on his coffee when he sees me in the morning ;) Today I'll be showing two recent FOTDs, a look with bright green eyeshadow and a bit of a simple everyday look.

Let's start with the colourful look first! I used my Coastal scents 88 palette for this one. Green isn't really a colour I often use (I do like to use teal though, and purples) so it was nice to try something different.

I'm also wearing the Viva Glam Gaga lipstick, some clear lip gloss from MUA and the Essence silky touch blush in Adorable

Time for the second FOTD! I created the neutral look with my Naked palette from Urban Decay. Well, my eyes definitely look a little naked when you compare this look to the previous one ;)

Here I'm wearing the same blush, and on the lips I'm wearing Shake-up from Rimmel London (another one of my favourite lipsticks).

On a side note, I'm finally done with my Bachelor thesis! My work at the hospital (trying to find the optimal source of carbohydrates for healthy and severely malnourished infants and children) is completed, next is my internship at a dialysis center! Today is also my second blog anniversary, can't believe my blog is turning 2 today ;)

What about you? Can you make a choice between colourful and neutral shades?

NOTD: Teddy Bear Nails

Hello everyone! I'm a huge fan of nail art that is inspired by animals, and today I want to show you a 'Nail of the day' that's inspired by teddy bears! Below, I'll show you all of the nail polish I used & I've included a bit of a mini tutorial as well  (...well okay, just some step by step pictures). If you'd like to see more animal inspired nail art, I suggest clicking on the 'animal inspired' label at the bottom of this post! ;)

Let's take a look at the nail polish I used! I wanted to spice things up a little and used multiple bright shades this time. (I used the peachy one in the middle for my thumb by the way, but it can't be seen in any of the pictures). I really like how the yellow and green nail turned out though, so next time I'll stick to one of those colours. Skittles nails can be fun but I'm secretly more of a matchy-matchy kinda girl ;) Okay, moving on to the nail polish! 1: H&M, Turquoise kitty. 2: H&M, Pink kitty. 3: Essence, What do u think? 4: Models own, Lemon meringue. 5: Catrice, Sold out for ever.

But there's more ;) What you see above is what I used to paint the bears & to add the details. 1: An old black liquid eyeliner. 2: H&M, Get a rose 4 me. 3: Lemax nail art striper in white. 4: MNY, 549. 5: KOH, Vintage pink.

Some of my nails look a little bit messy because I took the pictures before I removed the nail polish from my cuticles etc., my apologies! It is very simple to paint the bear shape though, and for the details you'll only need a dotting tool (or something similar) and/or a couple of nail art stripers.

Yup, I think the bear looks the best with the green background! ;)

Pretty cute!

If someone has a suggestion for my next animal inspired nail art, please let me know! Maybe something with zebras or penguins?
