Review: L'Oreal Caresse Dating Coral lipstick

Most of the time I wear pink lipstick, but lately I'm reaching out for the coral shades in my collection. The L'Oreal Caresse 301 lipstick in Dating Coral is one of them! I got this beauty at a reduced price during a sale, usually they cost €14,99.

Unfortunately the plastic makes the lipstick look a bit cheap in my opinion, but I quite like the see through kind of packaging. It's easy to see the colour of the lipstick without opening it and it's pretty sturdy too.

Time for some swatches! Dating Coral is not a very bright colour and has a bit of a sheer but glossy finish, which makes it a very wearable shade. It actually feels like a lip balm and stays in place for about 2 hours (with no eating/drinking). It's supposed to be hydrating, but it didn't really do much for my lips. It's still a bit more creamy than the average lipstick though, which makes it comfortable to wear.

I think Dating Coral is a beautiful shade for the Summer months. It's very comfortable to wear although not very long-lasting. Personally I think it's a bit pricey for a drugstore lipstick, but if you can get it during a sale (or don't mind spending that amount of money on a lipstick) it's definitely worth it!

A peak into my life!

It's time for another ''a peak into my life'' post! (In case you are interested, you can read the first one here). This time I decided to include the pictures of recent purchases, so I won't be blogging separately about that anymore. I actually ended up making a lot of collages because I had so many pictures I wanted to show you guys, but I like how it turned out. Ready to get started?

Okay, let's start with food! I just looove taking pictures of my meals, especially if I'm eating in a restaurant. Sometimes I share the picture on Twitter or Instagram, but 9/10 times I just forget about it.

This is a picture of my mothers make-up dusty! I cleaned everything up for her and reorganised everything. She usually just uses foundation, powder, a bit of eye liner and sometimes lipstick. She promised to give her make-up some more love though!

I decided to take a look at my own make-up/beauty collection as well and I found a lot of products that needed to be thrown away. Old mascaras, funny smelling shower gels and a lot of dried up nail polish for example. Bye bye old stuff!

I went to the store to repurchase a couple of things and found a few things I wanted to try out. (Can you believe I never tried a face primer, eyebrow gel or an eyebrow pencil before?). I basically got a primer, blush and eye pencil for free, gotta love sales! Reviews will follow a.s.a.p., although I already reviewed the Max Factor mascara and the Batiste dry shampoo.

I've never been interested in sports, but about five weeks ago I decided it was time to do something about my poor physical fitness. I'm a dietitian and always tell my patients that eating healthy and exercise go hand-in-hand. And even though my weight is perfectly fine, it was time to follow my own advice and start getting physically fit. I started running with my sister, took a gym membership and found a few awesome work out buddies. We keep each other motivated! I know it will take a lot of time, but I'm so glad that I'm investing more in my own body right now.

Of course I needed a pair of decent shoes and some clothes (can't run around naked after all).

At the gym! I started going once a week, now you can find me there 3-4 times a week.

And this is probably my favourite work out buddy, my iPod! My mum bought herself a new one and I could have her old iPod. It's black & silver though, so I prettified it with a pink case.

My sister and I went to the movies a couple of weeks ago because she really wanted to see ''The host''. I didn't expect to like it, but it was quite enjoyable! I also went to see ''The big wedding'' because I like romantic comedy films. Well...I absolutely hated the movie! The plot was lame and predictable and I certainly disliked all the awkward sexual scenes.

 Lara :)

I also went to a festival earlier this month (Bevrijdingsfestival Groningen). I got to see Milo Greene, The Coup, Miss Montreal, Villagers and Newton Faulkner. I hoped to see Cold War Kids too, but ended up missing their performance. Boo!

Above you can see two gifts (the nail polish and the lovely scarf) and some things from the thrift store (the candle thingies and the glasses. They are cocktail glasses by the way, I'm obsessed with cocktails lately). The purse and the blue lipstick belong to my sister though, she is fascinated by ''colour changing'' lipstick lately. The necklace is one of my new favourites.

The nail polish I picked out (Endless possibilities) happened to be very similar to my other nail polish from Revlon, Touch of Mauve. I love both!

Two random NOTD pictures. Left: Spring Green by Barry M. (Ha, I just noticed that I have foundation all over my hand). Right: Endless possibilities by Revlon.

Pictures of our two dogs...they never fail to make me laugh.

Pink nails, pink coat and a pink couch...yeah, the people at IKEA thought I was some crazy pink-lover :P I didn't buy the couch or anything, just thought it would be a funny pictures. Back at college people frowned when they saw me wearing a bright pink coat by the way, but there is actually a story behind that piece of clothing. My father has an eye disease and is partly blind, so together we picked out a coat that would help me stand out. Thanks to the coat he can easily recognize me when we are somewhere crowded, so I don't really care if people make fun of it. I love my coat!

Here I am at work, working on ''meal schedules'' for my patients.

I was in a rush so I didn't have time to take a decent picture (one of me actually smiling) but I still wanted to show this one. My sister decided to curl my hair for me and I really like how it turned out.

And this is already (finally?) the last one, a ''peak into my life'' kind of post is not complete without a pretty picture of nature! :)

FOTD: Using the tape trick

I love using tape when I apply eyeshadow, it's just a super easy way to get a fun, diagonal line. (You take a piece of tape and place it from the end of your eyebrow to the corner of your outer eye area. I always stick it on the back of my hand first and then peel it off to make sure that it's not too sticky.) I kind of like the sharp edge, but you can smudge the line with your finger or use a blending brush to create a softer look. Below you can see the same FOTD with a different lipstick. Yes, I'm a bit of a lipstick junkie!

Hmm...think I do prefer the nude lips to be honest!

Pumpkin pie is probably my favourite nude lipstick, it's one of my NYX round lipsticks. In the other collage I'm wearing the Avon ultra colour rich moisture seduction lipstick in Plum Gorgeous. On top of that one I'm wearing a lip gloss from H&M named ''Call me plum''.

Here's a close up of the eyes. It's kind of a mix of brown and plum. Nothing super dramatic, but the sharp edge does give it a little extra something!

I used ''Virgin'', ''Sin'' and ''Naked'' from my Naked palette by Urban Decay. The one from Sephora is called ''Caroline's pride''. Virgin is definitely my favourite highlighter of the moment, such a gorgeous shade! I keep using that one over and over. On the cheeks I'm wearing (surprise, surprise) the Essence silky touch blush in Adorable.

Have you already tried using tape when doing your make-up?
